Parent Coaching & Advice
Your children are the most important thing to you. You'd do just about anything for them and want the best for them.
Parent-Child Relationship Coaching
You may be thinking, "I don't need parenting coaching. I know my child better than anyone." And honestly, you're probably right. No one knows your child's personality, quirks, strengths, fears, and heart quite like you do. You have spent countless hours loving them, caring for them, comforting them, and helping them grow.
Child Parent Relationship Therapy was created by Gary Landreth, the father of Child Centered Play Therapy to enhance the parent child connection.
Partnering with a Professional to Support You in Your Parenting
Child Parent Relationship Therapy isn't based on the assumption that you're doing something wrong or that you need someone to tell you how to raise your child. In fact, it's just the opposite. It builds on the strengths you already have as a parent.
Think about it this way: professional athletes have coaches. Musicians have teachers. Therapists have supervisors and consultants. Even the most skilled professionals continue learning because growth never stops. Parenting—the most important job many of us will ever have—is no different.
Research consistently shows that when parents learn specific relationship-based skills grounded in attachment science, relational neuroscience, and Child-Centered Play Therapy, children experience measurable improvements in emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, behavior, and the quality of the parent-child relationship. Parents often report feeling calmer, more connected, and more confident in responding to difficult moments.
Bringing together parents with their children as they learn and integrate specific skills to enhance and improve their parenting, and strengthen the relationship.
One of the most encouraging aspects of CPRT is that it doesn't ask you to become a different parent—it helps you become an even more intentional version of the parent you already are. You'll learn how to recognize what your child's behavior is communicating, respond in ways that strengthen your relationship, and create moments of connection that literally support healthy brain development.
Perhaps the greatest gift of CPRT is that it shifts the question from, "How do I get my child to behave?" to, "How can I strengthen the relationship that naturally supports my child's growth?" When children feel deeply seen, understood, accepted, and emotionally safe, positive behavior often becomes the byproduct rather than the goal.

You already know your child.
CPRT simply gives you additional tools to deepen that connection, strengthen your confidence, and harness one of the most powerful healing influences in your child's life—you.
Meet Your CPRT Coach
Hi, I'm Tyra Butler, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I'm passionate about helping parents build stronger, more connected relationships with their children.
For over 16 years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside children, couples, and families as they navigate life's challenges. Throughout my career, one truth has become increasingly clear: the relationship between a parent and child is one of the most powerful influences on a child's emotional health, resilience, and lifelong well-being.
That's why I love Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT).
CPRT equips parents with the same evidence-based relationship skills used in Child-Centered Play Therapy, empowering them to become agents of healing and growth in their own homes. Rather than teaching parents how to "manage" behavior, CPRT helps them better understand their child's inner world, strengthen attachment, and create the emotional safety children need to thrive.
My work is deeply informed by attachment science, relational neuroscience, and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). I believe children—and adults—grow best in relationships where they feel genuinely seen, heard, understood, and accepted. As parents learn these skills, they often discover something unexpected: not only does their child's behavior begin to change, but their relationship becomes richer, calmer, and more joyful.
Parents frequently tell me that CPRT transformed the way they understand their child. Power struggles become opportunities for connection. Big emotions become moments of growth. Families begin to enjoy one another again.
My role isn't to tell you how to parent your child. You know your child better than anyone else. My role is to come alongside you, build on the strengths you already possess, and equip you with practical, research-supported tools that help you become even more confident, connected, and intentional as a parent.
It is truly an honor to partner with families as they discover the incredible healing power of relationship. I look forward to helping you strengthen your connection with your child and create a relationship that will continue to flourish for years to come.
